Hasan Zillur Rahim, an American Muslim, writes of an unfortunate consequence of the war on terror, terrorism, and the backlash that results from both: Muslim families are considering sending their children back to their countries of origin to escape the problems in America.

Rahim argues, however, that instead of avoiding the problems of being a Muslim in America (and thus leading "double lives"), the Muslims in America should fully integrate into American society. The guardian against children experimenting with drugs and doing other things that may be regarded as consequences of 'too much freedom for children' is alert and responsible parenting by the Muslim parents themselves.
