The South Bend Tribune contains this article on the Muslim/Christian Women's Dialogue Group, a social club consisting of Muslim and Christian women in Indiana who get together every month to discuss their beliefs. According to one of the co-founders, "Unless people talk, you never really know how to live well together.... We have so many stereotypes, but once you get to know someone, it changes your ideas completely."
The article notes, "The goal for all involved is an exchange of information to learn more about each other, not to convert anyone." Each month they select a different topic to discuss. In January, the group talked about Islamic views on embryonic stem-cell research.
A participant explained, "instead of 'us and they,' the Muslims and Christians in the group had grown into 'we.'"
The meetings take place on the third Tuesday of each month at either the Islamic Society of Michiana, 3310 Hepler St., or Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood Road.
