Sensible Security
The New York-based Sikh Coalition is complaining about a new airport screening policy requiring a closer check of individuals wearing head coverings, such as cowboy hats, berets — and turbans. The group is upset because Sikhs wear religious head coverings.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but please take off the turbans for closer inspection. The potential for hidden weapons is greater than the need for privacy. As long as no particular group is being singled out, the law is a fair one. [Link]
