A group of Georgetown University students protested "alleged incidents of discrimination at the restaurant and to demand equitable treatment for all customers."
According to Georgetown student Sumeet Singh Mitter, the manager of The Tombs restaurant in Georgetown "approached his brother [a Sikh who wears a long beard and a turban] and repeatedly asked him if there was a problem." Mitter "described the manager's attitude as unnecessarily hostile and attributed his actions to ethnic discrimination."
A full account of the protest and the alleged discrimination can be found here.
