According to GG2.net, "a Sikh civil rights documentary is scheduled to be screened at the 28th Annual Asian American International Film Festival (AAIFF) at New York in July." The documetnary is entitled “Dastaar: Defending Sikh Identity.”

The documentary shows the struggle of the American-Sikh community to overcome hatred, fear and intolerance it faces from fellow Americans due to an essential symbol of the Sikh faith -- the “dastaar” (headgear).Incidentally, Valarie Kaur, co-director of the Discrimination & National Security Initiative, is presently working on her own documentary film, entitled ““Divided We Fall: Americans in the Aftermath.”
